Who we are

ResideNL ("ResideNL", "we", "us") is a mobile app that helps international residents work out and keep track of the administrative steps involved in moving to and living in the Netherlands. This policy explains how the app handles your information.

Information the app stores

When you use ResideNL, the following is stored locally on your device only:

• The answers you give during onboarding (for example: your citizenship group, reason for moving, whether you've registered with your municipality, and the dates you provide).
• Your task progress (which steps you've marked done or not applicable) and any target dates or reminders you set.
• Document details you choose to add: the document type, issuing country, and issue/expiry dates. We do not store copies of your actual documents — only the dates you type in.

ResideNL is designed to store status rather than sensitive identifiers. It does not ask for, and you should not enter, your BSN, passport number, driving-licence number, tax ID, bank-account number, or exact home address.

Information we do not collect

We do not require you to create an account, and we do not collect or receive your name, email address, contacts, precise location, or the information above. None of the information you enter is transmitted to us or to any third party by the app.

Reminders and notifications

If you choose to set a reminder, ResideNL schedules a local notification on your device. These are handled by your device's operating system; no reminder content is sent to us.

Links to official sources

ResideNL links out to official government and public websites (for example the IND, municipalities, the Belastingdienst, the RDW, and DigiD). When you follow a link you leave the app; those websites have their own privacy practices, which we don't control.

Sharing and selling

We do not sell, rent, or share your personal data. Because your information stays on your device, there is nothing for us to share.

Keeping and deleting your information

Your information remains on your device until you remove it — using "Start over" in the app, or by deleting the app. Uninstalling the app removes the data it stored on your device.

Children

ResideNL is intended for adults managing their own residency administration and is not directed at children.

Changes to this policy

If we change how the app handles information — for example if we later add optional accounts, sync, or privacy-conscious analytics — we will update this policy, change the date above, and ask for any consent the law requires before such features are enabled.
